Many municipalities in our country have their own brand. In Glamoč, it is potato, and in its honor this weekend, for the fifteenth year in a row, a special manifestation “Glamoc Potato Days”, or popularly called ‘krumpirijada’, was organized.
Although the weather was not favorable for the cultivation of the most important vegetable garden in Glamoč, the producers are satisfied with the yield and quality of potatoes. They are also satisfied with the price, and they are not afraid of placement.
Ilija Radoja is a farmer from Glamoč. Everywhere around, it’s less productive, he says – so Glamok potatoes are in demand. When it comes to wholesale prices, this year it is between 1.60 and 2 marks.
Tahir Hadžić, so-called, is also proud of his fruits. Garo, a farmer from the village of Kovačevci. He took part in all potato fairs, and he regularly enters competitions: “For three or four years in a row, I won prizes, meaning the heaviest potato. This year I sowed, I had three tons per dulum”.
The event dedicated to his majesty, the potato from Glamoc, became an agricultural fair with a diverse offer.
“This is the largest potato fair so far, we have as many as 35 stands with exhibitors, some from Glamoč, some from neighboring municipalities, and beyond,” says Slobodan Paštar, expert associate for agriculture in the Municipality of Glamoč.
Nenad Petrušić, a beekeeper from Banja Luka, also arrived in Glamoč, with homemade honey and various mixtures: “We have nettle in honey, we have kremić medic, we have immune mix, we have bone mix, we have honey in honeycomb, we have honey brandy…” .
“I deal with milk, dairy products, I keep bees, I have these agricultural crops… We go to the market, take them out, sell them,” says Gordana Jeličić from Bosanski Petrovac.
Mirela Ledenko is the president of the Women’s Association Žad from Glamoč: “It is an opportunity for us to show our products, potatoes are the most famous, and this is also for people to visit us. We are a little neglected in that regard, and we also try to promote our municipality through our work”.
And this youth gathered in KUD “Budućnost” is also promoting its famous Glamok circuit. The largest displayed potato weighing 1,619 grams was produced by Sadin Smajić, and the tastiest potato pie and the most decorated stand were also selected, Federalna reports.
