There are eight little heroes who are currently fighting the cancer together with their families in the Parent’s House. Most of them lose their hair during the treatment, which is especially difficult for girls.
“The project “My hair – your hair” officially started on October 1, 2017 and it will last for a year. The Embassy of Switzerland to BiH supports this project and it is implemented by the Association for children with cancer,” said coordinator of the project, Nermina Cuzovic.
One of their activities within the campaign is cutting and donating hair for the purpose of making wigs for children who are dealing with temporary or permanent hair loss.
“So far, we created and handed over 14 wigs, and four more wigs are currently in the process of making. Wigs from the workshop of the Association are completely free of charge for any child who has temporary or permanent hair loss and their aim is to restore self-confidence,” explained Cuzovic. She also added that the youngest user of the wig is a three-year-old Anja from Sanski Most.
The Association ” The Heart for Children with Cancer” is also preparing the action of cutting and donating hair for children with cancer in Banja Luka, Bihac, Zenica, Mostar and the final campaign will take place in Sarajevo.
