This was also partially confirmed in the response of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) addressed to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) regarding the recent activities on the appointment of Sebija Izetbegović as the director of the Clinical Center University of Sarajevo (CCUS) and the abolishment of the General Hospital “Prim. Dr. Abdulah Nakaš”.
The statement said that the “panic reaction of SDP is most probably caused by the fear of losing substantial rent which they collect for the accommodation of the Government of FB&H in a facility which is not even owned by them, but by the state”.
As they stated, appointment of Sebija Izetbegović as the director of CCUS “will be executed only with strict respect of all legal regulations and in accordance with working, professional and scientific references needed for such appointment”.
The building of the former Military Hospital was owned by the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, after which it became the property of B&H through the succession process. Minister of Defense of B&H, Marina Pendeš, confirmed that the building where the General Hospital is situated is a military facility, but that it is not on the list of perspective military assets and that it is being managed by the FB&H Government.
