At the press conference held in Svrzo’s House in Sarajevo, the “Sarajevo Navigator” Foundation and the “Muzej Sarajeva” Public Enterprise proudly announced the second edition of the concert series “Sevdah Damir Imamović in Svrzo’s House”.

This year, too, exclusive concerts, which combine top art and historical heritage, will be held every Wednesday during July and August from 9 p.m., with the participation of very interesting guests who will join Damir Imamović on stage in the women’s yard (haremluk) of Svrzo’s House.

In 2026, the project is realized in the light of two significant jubilees: 300 years of the existence of the Svrzo House and 75 years since the Museum of Sarajevo purchased this building, began its systematic renovation, and activated it as one of its branches.

Svrzo’s house is the “natural habitat” of the sevdalinka. It was in such courtyards and under the ašik-penđer that the most beautiful longing love songs were created, which since the end of 2024 have proudly carried the status of an officially inscribed heritage on the UNESCO List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

A word from the actors at the press conference:

Nedim Lipa, representative of the Sarajevo Navigator Foundation: “The connection of Svrzo’s House, which celebrates three centuries of existence, and sevdalinka is a combination of tangible and intangible heritage at the highest artistic level. We are happy that in partnership with the Museum of Sarajevo we can offer an event that reflects the very core of the cultural identity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.”

Indira Kučuk Sorguć, Director of the Sarajevo Museum: “For the Sarajevo Museum, this is much more than a concert program. It is a space in which intangible cultural heritage is not presented as a museum exhibit, but as a living and creative force that still inspires new generations of artists and audiences today. Sevdah, saz, voice and word find their original context here again – the house, the courtyard, the Sarajevo night and the community of people gathered around beauty”.

Damir Imamović, artist: “We are heading towards a wonderful Sarajevo summer, full of concerts, socializing and fun. I am happy that my concerts at Svrza’s House are part of that atmosphere. We have dear guests and guests from the region and Europe who will perform with me in an authentic setting. In addition to old friends, there will be some new names and I am infinitely looking forward to them all.”

The realization of this top cultural event was recognized and supported by numerous partners. The project is realized with the selfless support of the general sponsor BH Telecom – My Story, and the official payment partner, Mastercard.
