Pep Guardiola’s scratched head cooled down today after a hot evening at the Etihad, and the Manchester City manager addressed the public with a post on the social network Instagram.
The public address came after he realized what message his behavior during the Champions League match with Feyenoord in which the English champions squandered a three-goal lead, and especially his statements after the match, could have sent.
“Towards the end of the press conference, I was caught by a question about the scratch on my face and I replied that it was accidentally caused by a sharp nail. In my response, I did not in any way want to trivialize such a serious problem as self-harm. I understand that many people struggle with mental health disorders every day and I would like to take this moment to highlight one of the ways people can seek help,” a short post on the PR team’s page of the famous coach was written, along with the phone number and email address of an organization that deals with the mental health of citizens of England.
