Halilhodžić: Meša should stay, Players should talk less

Halilhodžić about Match faktor.baThe renowned BH expert Vahid Halilhodžić, who is currently leading the national team of Japan with great effectiveness, commented on last night’s defeat of the Dragons by the national team of Ireland (2:0) and the end of the dream about qualifying for EURO 2016.

Halilhodžić is currently in Cambodia, finalizing the preparations of his team for the match against the national team of this country within the qualifications for the World Championships in 2018. The match was scheduled at 1:15 p.m., B&H time.

“It was a great chance for the national team of B&H to qualify for EURO. They have managed to rise up during qualifications, but some players should take a look at themselves after the match against Ireland. Earlier, Safet (Sušić) was not good, now probably Meša (Baždarević) will not be good. Great responsibility is on the players. They should dedicate less to talking, and more to playing”, said Halilhodžić.

Halilhodžić highlighted that the national team usually changes the coach after a defeat such as the last night’s defeat by Ireland, but he believes that Mehmed Baždarević should remain the coach of the BH national team.

“Meša has to be supported and the Football Federation of B&H should extend contract with him. He made several very good results in difficult matches during the qualifications. I am sorry that there was no final celebration in the last moment”, Halilhodžić added.
