Firefighters and local authorities remain on high alert for the possibility that the forest fire in the Oude region, which is the largest in France in almost 80 years, could spread further due to very high temperatures in the area, the AP reports.
The fire has spread to about 160 square kilometers in the past three days and has so far killed one person and forced hundreds of people to evacuate.
The regional governor, Christian Puget, said that about 1,000 people have not yet returned to their homes.
At least 13 people have been injured in the fire so far, including 11 firefighters.
