The Medical Chamber of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina sent an appeal to the authorities for additional employment of doctors. They warn that the health system is on the verge of collapse and that patients do not receive adequate care because one nurse takes care of 20 infected people.

The Medical Chamber of the Federation of BiH announced today that the current epidemiological situation is bad, and doctors working in health care institutions of all levels of health care receive, treat and care for all patients infected with coronavirus, Avaz writes.

”I also emphasize the importance of our members, doctors who compile protocols for triage, diagnosis and treatment. In addition, we are aware of the importance of the work performed by our members in the bodies and institutions related to measures to prevent and control COVID infection. Many of our members are ill, fighting for their lives or in isolation, and the health system and patients are suffering,” said Amila Becirovic, president of the FBiH Medical Chamber.

In the current epidemiological situation, she also emphasizes the lack of mid-level medical staff in health care institutions.
