Helez met with UAE Minister of State for Defense Affairs Al Mazrouei

The Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and Minister of Defense, Zukan Helez, met on the third day of his official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with the country’s Minister of State for Defense Affairs, Mohammed bin Mubarak Fadhel Al Mazrouei.

During the meeting, Minister Helez expressed his gratitude for the assistance and support that the UAE has provided to BiH in the past period.

“I regret that BiH has not yet managed to establish significant bilateral and economic cooperation with the UAE. This friendly country is among the wealthiest and most economically developed in the world. There are many areas in which we should have already established bilateral cooperation that would contribute to the overall economic progress of our country. Only recently has there been more significant institutional interstate cooperation between our two countries. To that end, the Ministry of Defense of BiH has prepared a draft Memorandum of Understanding and a Plan for Bilateral Military Cooperation with the UAE. I hope that we will soon sign these two documents, which will elevate the cooperation and relations between BiH and the UAE to a higher level,” said Helez.

At the end of the meeting, the Deputy Chair of the Council of Ministers of BiH invited the Minister of State for Defense Affairs Al Mazrouei to visit BiH.

“I invited Al Mazrouei to visit so that we can continue discussions on improving relations between BiH and the UAE, not only in the areas of military cooperation but also in economic, trade, and tourism sectors,” emphasized Helez, according to the Public Relations Office of the Ministry of Defense of BiH.
