Mohammad Afif, Hezbollah’s head of media relations, was killed in an Israeli strike on a building in central Beirut.
This was confirmed by two Lebanese security sector sources.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) carried out the strike in the Ras Al-Naba’a neighborhood, located in the central part of Lebanon’s capital, far from Hezbollah’s stronghold in the southern suburbs. However, IDF strikes have prompted internal migration within the country.
The IDF did not issue any evacuation warning before the strike, which is unusual given that this location was not an expected target.
