Visitors’ interest in the Trebević cable car is high this year, and 85,638 tickets were sold in just four months. If we compare it with the same period last year, an increase of 8,333 rides was recorded, said Džena Zeničanin from the Marketing and Promotion Department of the Public Institution Sarajevo for FENA.
On the other hand, as she said, in the first four months, 967,757 BAM including VAT were collected from the tickets sold, which is 205,685 BAM more than last year.
Speaking about whether more foreigners or domestic tourists are visiting the cable car, Zeničanin said that foreigners are in the lead.
She pointed out that at the same time, the number of pensioners who had a discount on the price of a return ticket, as well as children up to seven years old who do not pay for a ticket, increased significantly.
“What is especially pleasing is the fact that our city has become an unavoidable destination on the tourist map. Tourists come from different parts of the world and the Trebević cable car is their favorite destination. Since the beginning of this year, visitors coming from the region, from Serbia, Croatia, and Slovenia, and our standard guests from Arab countries have been in the lead, and a larger number of Chinese and Asians, in general, is noticeable. Recently, we have also had guests from India who did not come before,” Zeničanin points out.
According to the data available to the Public Institution Sarajevo, from the beginning of the operation of the Trebević cable car to April 30, 2023, 1,417,443 tickets were issued.
This company emphasizes that they are very satisfied with visits to the Trebević cable car and that it is an attraction that almost every tourist visits on their travels and vacations.
She emphasizes that in terms of statistics, last year was the most successful since the opening of the Trebević cable car, as 358,662 tickets were sold, of which 17,000 children were transported for free, Fena reports.
