Honorable Mention for BiH Team at Informatics Olympiad in Bolivia

The Bosnian-Herzegovinian team participated in the 37th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2025), which brought together more than 300 young programmers from more than 80 countries around the world in Sucre, Bolivia.

Bosnia and Herzegovina was represented at this prestigious world competition by Faruk Ibrahimović (Second Gymnasium Sarajevo), Benjamin Mujkić (Second Gymnasium Sarajevo), Faruk Demirović (Fifth Gymnasium Sarajevo) and Andrej Krčmar (Gimnasium Banja Luka), under the leadership of Adnan Šalaka and his deputy Jasna Kopić.

This year’s Olympiad was also an opportunity for young computer scientists to test their skills in solving demanding algorithmic and programming tasks over two intense days of competition.

Although the BiH team did not win a medal this time, it achieved a notable result – an honorable mention was awarded to Faruk Ibrahimović, in recognition of his exceptional dedication and hard work. This recognition represents an important step in his development as a young IT professional, but also an encouragement for the entire team. Team members highlight the numerous positive experiences they brought back from Bolivia, from getting to know different cultures, to making new friends, to exchanging knowledge and experiences with peers from all over the world.

The participation of the BiH team this year was once again organized by the Informatics Olympiad Association in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the extremely significant support of the Infobip company.

This globally recognized IT company from the region fully financed the travel and participation of the BiH team, thus enabling our young IT professionals to compete on an equal footing with the best in the world. Without such support, participation in a competition of this level would not have been possible, and Infobip has once again shown that it invests not only in technology, but also in people, in knowledge, education and the future. Their commitment to the development of young talents from Bosnia and Herzegovina is a great example of socially responsible business and investment that leaves long-term traces.

The next Informatics Olympiad will be held in Uzbekistan, and the BiH The competitors are already starting preparations and setting high goals. Participation in such a competition is not only a confirmation of individual knowledge, but also an opportunity to present Bosnia and Herzegovina in the best light on the world stage, the Association of Informatics Olympiads in BiH announced.
