The MPs in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina should consider confirming the appointment of the Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borajna Krišto (HDZ BiH), at an emergency session planned for December 28.
Previously, the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina with two votes “for” (Željka Cvijanović and Denis Bećirović) and one vote against (Željko Komšić) passed the Decision on the appointment of Krišto as the Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
That decision is submitted to the Commission for the preparation of the elections of the Council of Ministers of BiH of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH for further procedure.
The meeting of the Commission, on the agenda of which is the consideration of eligibility and making a recommendation for the confirmation of Kristo for the position of chairperson of the BiH Council of Ministers, is scheduled for the morning of December 28, before the actual session of the House of Representatives.
“I would like to express my gratitude for the trust and consent of all competent institutions in the verification process and emphasize the need for the rapid formation of all levels of government. I deeply believe that with appreciation and respect for the diversity and rights of each of the constituent peoples, we can create a functional and sustainable common homeland of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Kristo, speaking about the first steps in the new duty she should take on.
According to her, the new Council of Ministers must be an important initiator of numerous processes in the context of accelerating the Euro-Atlantic path of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Speaking about the HDZ and the HNS in BiH, as well as the support she received in the last elections, Krišto emphasized that “it is the Croats who are the leaders and true advocates of the integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina into the European Union and NATO”, in accordance with all the programs and documents that have been adopted and highlighted in the previous period.
“Through firmly defined foreign policy goals, consistent political action and cooperation with international officials, diplomats and organizations, political representatives of the HDZ BiH and the Croat People’s Assembly in the past period took concrete steps towards membership in the EU and NATO. They stand for active engagement in the integration processes, the progress of BiH, as well as the fulfillment of all the conditions set before BiH,” said Krišto and reminded of the active role and consistent policy that helped on the path for “our homeland to become part of the EU and NATO as soon as possible.”
Krišto also reminded of the good cooperation with the representatives of the parties that will make up the ruling majority.
“Unlike those political options in BiH that only declaratively stand for membership in the EU and NATO, and in reality block the progress of BiH, the new Council of Ministers will have numerous tasks before it, which are contained in the document “Guidelines, principles and goals in the executive and the legislative authorities at the state level for the period 2022 – 2026,” Krišto points out in a statement for FENA, noting that her main goal, together with her partners, is to realize all the tasks that are put before the Council of Ministers, which will also be responsible for the speed with which BiH will move from the position of a candidate to the position of a country that opens the process of negotiations for membership in the EU, Fena reports.
