The Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team will play the most important match in its history on Wednesday, June 24.
Sergej Barbarez’s team faces Qatar, and a victory is essential for Bosnia and Herzegovina to qualify for the knockout stage – the Round of 32 of the World Cup.
Aside from the historic success if they win, victory also brings a massive prize pool secured by FIFA.
Football’s governing body has secured a record 871 million dollars. Out of this total, 2.5 million dollars is allocated to each national team for preparation expenses.
Additionally, 10 million dollars is guaranteed for each team’s qualification and participation in the group stage.
Interestingly, if they qualify for the World Cup’s Round of 32, Bosnia and Herzegovina will earn 13.5 million dollars.
As a reminder, the World Cup winner will ultimately take home 50 million dollars, Klix.ba writes.
