According to the Head of the Department for the making of spatial planning documents within the Institute for Urbanism of the City of Tuzla Indira Sofić, after a detailed analysis of the current situation it was identified that several localities in this city have potential for construction.
Orientations from the Spatial Plan of the city towards the expansion of urban amenities and the forming of a settlement at the entrance to the city from the western side, which will ensure all business and social amenities necessary for optimal functioning of the city center, have somehow dictated the projection of construction and arrangement of the spatial whole Solana sjever.
Regarding the Regulatory Plan of the production zone Kreka sjever, Sofić said that this whole represents an entirely undeveloped area which has been neglected for years due to its position and served mostly as a repository of organic and inorganic waste.
It is an attractive area on the western entrance to the city which offers opportunities for development of location for small and medium enterprises, and with the projection of construction and arrangement 29 individual production-manufacturing complexes have been formed.
Sofić said that the subsidence of terrain is still evident in the central city area. However, based on analyses and studies, conditions have been created for the adequate continuation of development of this part of the city.
With the aim of revitalizing this area, a Regulatory Plan of Educational-Cultural Recreational Center Stara gimnazija is being made.
Old madrasah and the old Gymnasium will dominate this area in a new, modern light. Also planned is the construction of public facilities of representative character which are incorporated in the arranged green areas, paved spaces and gathering spots.
One of the localities in Tuzla area which certainly has potential for construction is also the northwestern side of the spatial unit Stupine-Ušće, defined with the Spatial Plan as a residential-business zone with functions of a center.
