High Representative Christian Schmidt met in Rome with Italy’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani.
He stressed that ensuring the stability and functionality of Bosnia and Herzegovina requires sustained political commitment and responsibility from domestic leaders. The country’s challenges, he noted, are solvable through political will, dialogue, and compromise.
“It is the responsibility of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s authorities to seize the opportunity to advance EU integration, strengthen long-term stability, and ensure full respect for the Dayton Peace Agreement.”
High Representative Schmidt also expressed appreciation for Italy’s continued support to Bosnia and Herzegovina and to the mandate of the High Representative under the Dayton Peace Agreement.
