The United States strongly supports the High Representative and his use of Bonn powers, said the newly appointed US Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Western Balkans, Alexander Kasanoff, during a meeting with the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt.
Kasanoff, who inherited the new position from Gabriel Escobar, met with Schmidt at the GLOBSEC forum.
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, according to the US Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Kasanoff emphasized that the US supports the use of Bonn powers when necessary to defend the Dayton Peace Agreement and protect the sovereignty, territorial integrity and multi-ethnic character of BiH.
