In the past few days, two videos have appeared showing the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers destroying property in Gaza.
The first shows soldiers setting fire to objects in the back of the truck, which contains water bottles and cardboard boxes. The vehicle has Palestinian license plates.
The man in the video claims they are in the Shejaiya neighborhood in northern Gaza and says the video was filmed on the second day of Hanukkah, which was a Saturday. He says a Hamas tunnel shaft was filmed nearby.
Another video shows a soldier in what appears to be a shop that sold stationary and toys. The video shows the soldier laughing the whole time as he smashes things around the store, and in the background, the laughter of those behind the camera can also be heard.
It was not possible to independently verify where or when any of the videos were recorded.
However, both videos were sent by Sky news to the IDF, who responded:
“The IDF has taken action and will continue to act to identify misconduct and behavior inconsistent with the expected morals and values of IDF soldiers,” they wrote.
They announced that they would review the incidents as well as disciplinary measures against the soldiers involved.

Note the immense satisfaction & smile from ear to ear on one of the soldiers’ faces! They were the ones to film & post this b/c there will be ZERO consequences to this depravity pic.twitter.com/iMBIeQOf8k
