The FBI and Utah Department of Public Safety have released a photo and are appealing for the public’s help in identifying a person connected to the fatal shooting of conservative political activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University.
“We are asking for the public’s help in identifying this person of interest in connection with the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk. If you have information, please call 1-800-CALL-FBI,” officials said on social media.

Investigators believe the suspect is a male “college-aged” and well-suited to the university environment. The gun believed to have been used in the shooting was also seized, and authorities have “high-quality video” of the suspect.
Robert Bohls, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Salt Lake City office, said the agency could not release the identity of the perpetrator or information about fingerprints or DNA evidence collected because of the ongoing investigation. He also stressed that the shooter does not reside in the wooded area where the weapon was found.
“As far as the community is concerned, I can say that this was a targeted attack. We do not believe the community is in danger. However, we are exhausting all resources to find him – and we will do so,” Bohls said.
The killing of Charlie Kirk has sparked shock and condemnation around the world.
