The money from the new tranche of the credit arrangement with the IMF will be immediately operational.
Of these funds, two-thirds will be allocated to the FB&H budget and one-third to the RS budget, and the repayment of this debt will be performed by the entities in accordance with the applicable regulations.
At its session in Washington, the IMF Board considered a letter of intent of B&H on the continuation of credit arrangements with this financial institution.
The letter of intent was submitted with some delay due to the decision of the FB&H President Živko Budimir to dismiss FB&H Minister of Finance Ante Krajina at the beginning of January.
Without Minister Krajina’s signature, as one of the members of the B&H Fiscal Council, the letter could not be sent to Washington. The problem was solved after the FB&H Constitutional Court brought a temporary measure on 15 January to have Minister Krajina remain in the position of the Minister of Finance until the assessment of the constitutional decision on the dismissal.
