As part of a working visit to the Republic of Croatia, the member of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović, spoke in Zagreb with the President of the Republic of Croatia, Zoran Milanović, when he pointed out that we should work on strengthening economic and other ties between BiH and Croatia based on the principles respect for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, equality in interstate relations, mutual respect and non-interference in the internal affairs of other states.

He said that Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia are two neighboring and close countries whose cooperation is important not only for the well-being of the citizens of both countries, but also for the stability of the region and the entire area of Southeast Europe.

BiH Presidency member Bećirović particularly underlined the fact that BiH state bodies unanimously adopted strategic goals, namely full membership in NATO and the EU. Given that Croatia is a member of both NATO and the EU, it is important for Bosnia and Herzegovina to have its support in the realization of these goals.

He reminded that the improvement of friendly relations with neighboring countries is one of the priorities of the foreign policy of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that it is also one of the priorities of his personal involvement. BiH Presidency member Bećirović pointed out that the improvement of bilateral relations on an equal and partnership basis is in the best interest of both Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia.

During the meeting, they discussed the strengthening of bilateral cooperation and, in this context, the resolution of open bilateral issues. Special interest was expressed in resolving issues in the area of property-legal relations and the completion of the state delimitation process between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia.

Topics related to economic cooperation and implementation of infrastructure projects were also in the focus of the conversation. The importance of improving the traffic infrastructure between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia was reiterated, and the continuation of the construction of the Vc corridor is of particular importance, announced the BiH Presidency.
