In a Textbook in RS, Radovan Karadzic is described as a Poet and Psychiatrist

Ninth-grade students in the entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Republika Srpska (RS) learns history from a textbook in which, to put it mildly, the war in BiH is treated in an ignorant way, as well as the role played by certain actors from the military-political top of this entity.

The author of this textbook, Dragisa D. Vasic, briefly described the roles of war criminals Karadzic, Mladic, and many others, completely ignoring the facts and judgments of international courts.

It is interesting that the convicted war criminals are described in the textbook with undisguised sympathies, we can freely say praise, while the war in BiH was called civil.

Radovan Karadzic (1945), psychiatrist, poet, and politician. As the founder and leader of the Serbian Democratic Party, he played an extremely important role in the creation of the RS, of which he was the first president. The Serbian authorities extradited him to the International Criminal Court in The Hague in 2008, “ it was mentioned in the textbook.

The deliberate omission of facts is also present in the description of the criminal Ratko Mladic, who, among other things, was convicted of genocide in Srebrenica.

“Ratko Mladic (1943), as a JNA colonel, played an important role in the defense of Serbs in Croatia in 1991. As a general, he was the Chief of the General Staff of the RS Army from 1992 to 1996. In 2011, the Serbian authorities extradited him to the International Criminal Court in The Hague, “ the textbook stated.

Also, there are many other untruths and distorted facts in this textbook, from the fact that the Chetnik leader Draza Mihailovicwas an anti-fascist to the fact that the first president of BiH, Alija Izetbegovic, was “pro-Hitler oriented”.
