A video shared on social media shows an extravagant collection of luxury cars allegedly belonging to the ousted Syrian president Bashar al-Assad. The vehicles were reportedly stored in a garage near the presidential palace in Damascus.
One video, filmed by an individual driving through the collection, reveals more than 40 luxury vehicles housed in a large warehouse in western Damascus, north of the Al-Mazzeh district.
Among the cars visible in the footage are a red Ferrari F50, which routinely sells for over 3 million dollars, as well as Lamborghinis, Rolls Royces, and Bentleys. At least one vehicle has Damascus license plates.
Another video, recorded by individuals walking through the garage, shows the same collection of cars.
Faced with an extraordinarily rapid rebel offensive, Assad and his family fled to Moscow, where they were granted political asylum, a Russian official source stated earlier.
From Sydney to Stockholm, Syrian communities around the world are celebrating the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime after more than 50 years of brutal dictatorship by his family.
“We lost hope a few years ago. But now hope is returning. We are ready for whatever comes next. We’re simply happy. It couldn’t be better,” said one Syrian.
In Sweden’s capital, hundreds of Syrians gathered in a large public square, waving flags in the green, red, black, and white colors of the Syrian opposition. Celebrations were also held in Dublin and London.
In Germany, home to the largest number of Syrian refugees outside the Middle East, hundreds took to the streets of Berlin on Sunday, many holding posters of Assad’s face crossed out in red, Klix.ba writes.
