The Federal Hydrometeorological Institute of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued an orange warning for strong to gale force winds expected throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The warning applies from today, April 16th, from 12:00 to April 17th, at 7:00 PM.
Gusts from the south and southeast are expected between 60 and 80 kilometers per hour, and locally up to 90 kilometers per hour.
The World Meteorological Organization recommends that citizens take precautions and monitor the latest weather forecast, and expect disruptions to daily routines and disruptions caused by wind-blown debris.
August is mostly dry this morning, and BIHAMK warns of occasional strong winds and frequent landslides.
Maintenance work is underway on the Hum, Pečuj, Ričice and Klopče tunnels, which is why traffic on the A-1 motorway section in the direction of Zenica south-Zenica north (Zenica bypass) is being suspended.
Due to the repair of landslides on the A-1 Tarčin-Lepenica motorway section, the tunnel tubes of the Vis, 25. novembar and Grab tunnels are closed to traffic, and traffic is in two directions, on the opposite side of the motorway.
Due to active landslides, the main roads Sarajevo-Foča (at the locations Krupac-kod kamenoloma, Sijeračke stijene and Tuhalji) and Gacko-Tjentište (between the Čemerno and Surdup tunnels) are also being isolated.
Work is ongoing on the A-1 Visoko-Podlugovi highway section, as well as on the main roads: Novi Travnik-Bugojno, Vozuća-Zavidovići, Moševac-Maglaj, Polje-Kaćuni (in the Kaćuni settlement), Sarajevo-Pale, Gnojnice-Nevesinje (Dračevice), Lepenica-Han Ploča, Sarajevo-Hadžići and Jablanica-Mostar (Donja Jablanica and the Mostar bypass).
Traffic is still suspended on the Jablanica-Blidinje main road due to damage to the roadway.
Due to an active landslide, traffic is suspended on the regional roads Vrbaška-Mrakovica (in the Vučijak quarry area) and Ugljevik-Glavičice, in the village of Ugljevik selo.
There are no longer delays for passenger vehicles at border crossings.
Due to damage to the bridge, the Brčko border crossing can only be used by pedestrians.
Traffic for vehicles over 5 tons of maximum permitted weight is prohibited at the Karakaj border crossing (near Zvornik). Freight vehicles over 5 tons are being redirected to the Bratunac or Rača border crossings, while buses can use the Šepak border crossing. Freight vehicles can drive at the Šepak border crossing from 09:00 to 13:00 and from 22:00 to 06:00 (on weekends they can cross between 22:00 and 06:00), BiHAMK announced.
