Iran attacked US Bases in Qatar and Iraq

Iran has launched missiles at a US base in Qatar and another missile at a US base in Iraq in response to US strikes on the country’s nuclear sites, media reports said.

“The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched an operation targeting the Al Udeid base in Qatar with a powerful and devastating missile strike,” Iranian state television Irib News reported.

“No casualties reported in Iranian missile strikes, airspace over Qatar remains safe, it said.

Qatar’s Foreign Ministry said the US base at Al Udeid was evacuated ahead of the attack in line with security and preventive measures.

Qatar had earlier said it had temporarily closed its airspace as part of measures taken in response to developments in the Middle East region, the country’s Foreign Ministry said.

US forces had earlier carried out airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities at Fordow, Natanz and Esfahan.

Iranian military officials and members of parliament have vowed that the US will pay a price for its attacks on Iranian nuclear sites, while US President Trump warned Iran in a televised address not to retaliate against US strikes, saying it would face an unprecedented tragedy if it launched counter-strikes.

Media reported that six missiles were fired at the base in Qatar, as well as one at a US base in Iraq.

Witnesses told Reuters that explosions were heard in Doha.
