“Iron Instead of Painting Brush” in Tuzla and Sarajevo

U TUZLI I SARAJEVU “PEGLA UMJESTO KISTA”The exhibition of unusual paintings, done by iron, hair drier and wax of Zdena Šarić Pisker, who for more than three years creates art works in an unusual technique of encaustic will be exhibited until the end of the week in Tuzla and Sarajevo, on the occasion of marking International Women’s Day.

Encaustic is an old, forgotten technique of painting with wax and other objects that are source of heat. The usage of  crayons and regular ordinary irons as painting tools is a modernized approach to this technique that lately has a lot of fans in the world. 

The third exhibition, titled “Ženski svijet” (Women’s world) of this artist from Zenica will take place at the gallery of Bosnian Cultural Center in Tuzla on Thursday, 6th March, which will give a retrospective of her extensive previous artistic work. The exhibition will be open until 20 March 2014.

The artistic association “Paleta Ćulhan”, within marking the 8th March, will exhibit Zdena’s painting in a collective exhibition of association members, titled “Žena s kistom” (Women with a brush) at the Sarajevo Center for Children and Youth. The opening of the exhibition will take place on Wednesday, 5th March at 19:00 at the Center in Grbavica, and a charity auction will take place three days later at the same place.

Paintings of Zdena were created not only by iron, but also by hair drier and in a short time have attracted the attention of famous world artists of this technique.
