Islamic Community in BiH answers to Parajemaats!

12784349_1111911515526470_613773743_nOn February 19, 2016 an announcement by the so-called Coordination of independent jemaats was sent to the email address of the Islamic Community in BiH. The same announcement was delivered to the public through the address of one Fatmir Alispahić. In this letter, representatives of parajemaats demand a meeting with Reis Kavazović following his request for closing all parajemaats by the end of January. In this regard, Alispahić received the following answer that is hereby to be published in its whole:

“An email was sent to the email address of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which you have sent on behalf of the so-called Coordination of independent jemaats. In that email, you request from the Reis-ul-Ulema Husein Effendi Kavazović to provide on January February 27, 2016 one of the premises of the Islamic Community in Sarajevo where the representatives of these so-called independent jemaats could present conditions under which an agreement can be reached. You have not explained us in what capacity you appear here: as their member, representative, legal representative, spokesman, or just a mailman who delivers other people’s messages? However, since the four members of the alleged Coordination of independent jemaats  have not legitimized themselves in a proper manner either (no introduction, no signature, no address), we suggest you to, in whatever capacity you wish, deliver to the address already known to you what our congregation and broad public in our country already know.

Mr. Alispahić,

Islamic Community demonstrated its openness by inviting all groups organized beyond the scope of the institutional framework of the Islamic Community, which illegally and unlawfully practice operations in jurisdiction of the Islamic Community, to affiliate themselves with the institutions of the Islamic Community and access legal bodies. This process is being led by Muftis and head imams on the field, on a legal basis founded on the Constitution of the Islamic Community in BiH, the Law on the Position of Churches and Religious Communities in BiH and other legal acts of the State and the Community. With this act, the Islamic Community demonstrated its openness and readiness to give an opportunity to all those who are not members of the Islamic Community to obtain rights and assume responsibilities imposed by the membership in the Islamic Community following the accession.

Islamic Community will comply with the decisions of its organs and implement them on territorial basis. This is the only right path for all those who truly want to talk. Islamic Community is not to discuss its mission, task, role and its formal and real status in BiH with anyone, especially not with someone who questions its institutional and Islamic order at the expense of the Muslims in BiH. We will demand closure of all so-called jemaats established past the regulations and jurisdictions of the Islamic Community and we will discuss this with no one, not even with you or the members of the alleged ‘Coordination’.

Mr. Alispahić,

What does your request for a meeting and negotiations with the Reis-ul-Ulema actually mean in light of the recent appearance of a video in which one of the former members of those parajemaats, the certain Amir Selimović who is allegedly on a battlefield in Syria, announces his bloody spree on Baščaršija and addresses the most monstrous threats to the Reis-ul-Ulema Husein Effendi Kavazović and the Muslims? You should also explain to the public why you bring parajemaats into any kind of connection with the Chetniks, as if the slaughterers of innocent people should be divided on religious, national, ideological or any other affiliation. The public also needs an explanation of who intends to launch an inter-Bosniak conflict, as well as the explanation of other questions in your letter. What we primarily expected from you is to clearly raise your voice against incompetent, adventurist and sensationalist interpretation of religion by the so-called and malicious missionaries who employ monstrous methods to take our children to the foreign battlefields to die for other people’s goals. That is the least we have expected from you,” it was stated in the response by the Islamic Community addressed to Mr. Alispahić.
