Israel carried out intensive airstrikes on southern Lebanon early this morning, killing at least one person and wounding seven, the Lebanese Health Ministry said.
The bombing of the village of Msaileh hit a place where heavy machinery was being sold and destroyed a large number of vehicles.
Traffic on the highway leading to the capital Beirut was briefly disrupted, the AP reported.
The Health Ministry later said the person killed was a Syrian national, while one Syrian national and six Lebanese, including two women, were wounded.
The Israeli military said it had hit a site where machinery intended for the reconstruction of the militant group Hezbollah was stored.
Since the war between Israel and Hezbollah ended in late November with a ceasefire brokered by the United States, Israel has carried out almost daily airstrikes that have killed dozens of people.
Israel accuses Hezbollah of trying to rebuild its capabilities after the group suffered heavy losses during the 14-month war.
