Israel announced on Tuesday that it had killed a Hezbollah representative within the ranks of the Syrian regime in an airstrike on Damascus, the capital of Syria.
The spokesperson for the Israeli military, Avichay Adraee, stated that Salman Nimer Juma’a had been killed.
“Juma’a played a key role, on behalf of Hezbollah, within the Syrian military apparatus in the delivery of weapons,” he added.
There has been no comment from Hezbollah or the Syrian regime regarding this incident.
A ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel came into effect last week, in the hope of ending more than 14 months of fighting between the Israeli military and Hezbollah.
Nearly 4.000 people have been killed, and over 16.500 injured in Israeli attacks in Lebanon since October 2023, according to Lebanese health authorities.
