Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has dissolved the war cabinet that was formed on October 11, 2023 after Israel launched a war in the Gaza Strip, Israeli state media reported.
According to public broadcaster KAN, far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has made a strong request to join the cabinet.
The move comes after opposition leader Benny Gantz quit the emergency government earlier this month following disagreements over a post-war strategy for the Gaza Strip.
The war cabinet originally included Netanyahu, Ganz, Defense Minister Yoav Galant, Ron Dermer, Gadi Eisenkot and Shas party leader Arjeh Deri.
