Israeli Tanks entered in the Center of Gaza City

Today, Israeli tanks entered the center of Gaza City from different directions. Israel has ordered Palestinian civilians to evacuate city neighborhoods after an overnight bombardment that Gaza authorities said killed a dozen people.

Locals said the airstrikes and artillery fire, which came as multinational negotiations on a ceasefire agreement intensified, were among the heaviest attacks on the Gaza Strip in nine months of conflict between Israeli forces and Hamas.

Gaza City, in the north of the Palestinian enclave, was one of the first areas into which Israeli troops entered at the beginning of the war. A large part of the city is in ruins.

Gaza’s emergency services said it believed dozens of people had died, but emergency teams were unable to reach them because of attacks in Daraj and Tuffah to the east, and Tel Al-Hawi, Sabri and Rimali further west, Reuters reports.
