In recent days, the Israeli Air Force has been targeting targets in the suburbs of Beirut that are said to be Hezbollah command centers.
Defense Minister Yoav Gallant says senior Hezbollah official Hashem Safieddine, who was supposed to replace the terrorist group’s slain leader Hassan Nasrallah, was likely killed in last week’s attack in Beirut.
“Hezbollah is an organization without a leader, Nasrallah is eliminated, his replacement is likely. This has a dramatic effect on everything that is happening. There is no one to make decisions, no one to act,” Gallant said during a visit to the IDF’s Northern Command, adding that Hezbollah’s firepower also suffered a severe blow.
“The actions we are taking are being watched across the Middle East. When the smoke clears in Lebanon, they will realize in Iran that they have lost their most valuable asset, which is Hezbollah,” Gallant added.
