The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, told N1 this evening that due to geopolitical relations, it is unlikely that Bosnia and Herzegovina will introduce visas for citizens of the People’s Republic of China, Russia and Turkey.
Incidentally, the European Union has again warned that BiH, in addition to these three countries, must also introduce visas for citizens of Azerbaijan, Qatar and Kuwait, and that BiH has taken a step back compared to previous progress in the area of harmonization of the visa regime of the Western Balkan countries and the EU.
Konaković pointed out that there is great pressure on this issue and called on the EU to be serious when and if it happens that the SNSD in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH stops the adoption of two key laws, because with mutual understanding it will be easier to resolve the visa issue.
He added that the decision to abolish visas for citizens of Saudi Arabia in the period from June 1 to September 30 remains in force, that is, it is a permanent decision that applies during the tourist season.
Konaković announced that BiH will soon engage several global companies with which it will be possible to apply for a visa, following the example of EU members.
