Ivo Andrić Won the Nobel Prize on this Day 1961

Ivo_Andric[2]The world famous Bosnian writer Ivo Andrić won on this day 1961 the Nobel prize for literature.

That made him the first and only person from former Yugoslavia to receive this eminent award which was handed to him by doctor Anders Esterling in 1961 in Stockholm for his novel “Na Drini ćuprija” as well as for his total literature work in the history of one people.
