Jewish communities around the world are starting tonight to celebrate the holiday of Passover, one of the most important dates in the Jewish calendar.
Passover lasts eight days and is dedicated to the memory of the deliverance of the Jewish people from Egyptian slavery more than three thousand years ago.
The festive Seder dinner is held on the first and second nights of Passover.
During the dinner, the Haggadah, a book that describes the exodus from slavery, is read, while each of the 15 dishes on the table has its own symbolic meaning.
