The Press Council in Bosnia and Herzegovina characterized the trial as suppression of the freedom of information in the public interest and free satire.
“The process is backwards, the same as was the case recently with the portal klix.ba, thus the ones who should be processed for their immoral and irresponsible acts towards the public, are suing the journalist who pointed the public’s attention to these acts of the public servant,” the Press Council said in a statement.
“A democratic society guarantees its citizens the right to know, and the journalists the right to criticize and critically comment or react to acts of persons holding public functions. It is the editorial orientation of the portal poskok.info to present things satirically, as it did in this case also,” the Press Council said.
