Journalists From Seven Countries Visit Mostar: Captivated by the Old Bridge and the Charms of Herzegovina

The Tourist Board of the City of Mostar hosted on Saturday a group of prominent tourism journalists from seven countries, members of the World Federation of Travel Journalists and Writers (FIJET), who are on a multi-day study visit to Herzegovina.

Journalists from Croatia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Tunisia, Egypt, and Morocco had the opportunity during their stay in Mostar to get acquainted with the city’s rich cultural and historical heritage, its authentic gastronomy, and diverse tourist offer, it was stated by the Tourist Board of the City of Mostar.

A special impression on the guests was left by the historical landmarks of Mostar and the natural beauty of the region, and the hosts also prepared a special experience for them a traditional jump from the Old Bridge, organized in cooperation with the Diving Club “Mostari.”

As stated by the Tourist Board, the guests expressed great satisfaction with the visit and showed interest in returning, also announcing the promotion of Mostar through their media channels.

This visit is part of a broader program of touring Herzegovina, which concluded in Ljubuski with the awarding of the prestigious international prize Golden Apple Award, which FIJET awards to destinations with outstanding contributions in the development and promotion of tourism.

The Golden Apple Award, often referred to as the “Oscar in tourism,” has previously been awarded to cities such as Rovinj, Opatija, Luxor, Izmir, Timisoara, and Palermo.

The Tourist Board of the City of Mostar thanked the members of FIJET for the visit, expressing confidence that this study tour will contribute to the international promotion of Mostar and the entire region.
