“Jump in Kazan”, the 22nd International Extreme Diving Competition, will be held on Saturday, July 27th, starting at 4 p.m. on the main city beach in Konjic.
“On the last Saturday in July, Konjic will once again be the center of adrenaline sports in Bosnia and Herzegovina(BiH), but also in the region. This international event represents the City of Konjic, Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, as well as BiH in the best way, it is known throughout the region and attracts a large number of tourists.
Its goal is, first of all, the promotion of sports and entertainment tourism, the protection of the Neretva River and the strengthening of environmental awareness regarding its preservation. We are glad that several thousand visitors, lovers of extreme jumps into the Neretva river, will gather at the Stari Pazar beach in Konjic and enjoy the jumps of 30 participants. The best domestic jumpers, as well as jumpers from the region, will once again gather in Konjic. We only have room for the best. The title of the best jumper is defended by the excellent Dino Bajric,” says executive producer and event organizer Elmir Miro Hadzialic, who adds that entry to the jumps is free.
Jumps are performed from a height of 16 meters in Neretva at a place called Kazan.
”Kazan is 2×2 and 2 meters deep, bordered by rocks at a depth of one meter, which gives the jumps a special charm and raises the adrenaline of both the competitors and the audience. These are three rocks in the Neretva river that come out and continue to the rocks below water and there is a depth of about half a meter.
There is a hole between them, the so-called ‘Kazan’, which is two by two meters. The most important thing is that the jumpers fall into that hole, because if they miss it, there can be fatal consequences. In these 22 years, we haven’t had any awkward situations or accidents because professional jumpers and jumpers with huge experience take part in this competition,” emphasizes Hadzialic.
Jump to Kazan has become a unique, recognizable brand that attracts a large number of visitors, both domestic and foreign.
“This year too, we expect between 3,000 and 6,000 visitors. The sponsors will provide free gifts for the youngest paradise in the form of pancakes, sweets, juices, while we have provided a rich prize fund for the participants. The jumps will be judged by an expert jury composed of professional trainers, long-term active athletes and former jumpers,” says Hadzialic at the end, Klix.ba writes.
