We will not tolerate any threats to the territorial integrity, sovereignty and constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina, said the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, stating that any attempt to break up the country is unacceptable.

She assessed that the security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina is stable, but fragile due to the threat to the constitutional order coming from Republika Srpska.

“The leadership of Republika Srpska supports the constitutional and legal order, threatening the fundamental freedom of all citizens. These actions are contrary to the obligations that Bosnia and Herzegovina has undertaken on its path to the European Union,” Kallas stressed during a visit to the Butmir base in Sarajevo, where she met with EUFOR members deployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

She emphasized that she will not tolerate any threats to the territorial integrity, sovereignty and constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“Any attempt to break up the country is unacceptable,” she said, recalling that hundreds of additional soldiers were deployed in March in the Altea operation to send a clear message that the EU remains firmly committed to the stability of this region and the security of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“The people of Bosnia and Herzegovina deserve nothing less than stability and prosperity. The European Union will always remain the most stable and reliable partner in this country,” emphasized Kallas.

In every challenge the country has faced, she pointed out, it has always encountered the support of the European Union and NATO, and because of this, they also support the country’s own armed forces.

“Progress on the road to the EU remains the best guarantee of security and prosperity,” added Kallas who continues his visit to BiH in the building of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, where she will meet with the chairperson of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Borjana Krišto, and after that she will meet with members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

She stated that political leaders in Bosnia and Herzegovina must cooperate in order to solve problems in the country.

Kallas will conclude his visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina with a meeting with BiH Foreign Minister Elmedin Konaković, AA writes.
