Kamala Harris has said she will seek the Democratic presidential nomination after endorsing Joe Biden as her successor. He officially announced that he is suspending his re-election campaign.

“I am honored to have the president’s endorsement and my intention is to earn and win this nomination. Over the past year, she has traveled across the country talking to Americans about making a clear choice in this important election. And that is what I will continue to do in the coming days and weeks.”

“I will do everything in my power to defeat Donald Trump and his extreme agenda of Project 2025 with the united Democratic Party and our nation,” said Harris.

She added that “we have 107 days until election day”.

“Together we will fight. Together we will win,” Harris said.

The United States has never elected a woman president.
