McLaren is preparing to enter a new phase, and part of these preparations is bringing in a new head designer. This position has been given to Kemal Curić from Sarajevo, who brings decades of extensive experience to Woking.
Curić was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and holds a degree in Industrial Design as well as a Master’s Degree in Transport Design. He began his career at Ford of Europe in 2003, where he worked on models such as the Fiesta, Mondeo, and Kuga.
He left Europe to work in Ford Headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan, where he contributed to many high-profile projects, including the 2015 Mustang. He also served as manager for exterior design for the Lincoln Continental and as head designer for the Aviator and Corsair.
In 2019, Curić was appointed Head Designer at Lincoln. In this role, he worked on models like Chinese Zephyr Limousine, the Nautilus crossover, and the popular Navigator. Most recently, he worked as Acting Design Director for High-Performance Vehicles at Ford.
After years at Ford, Curić will be responsible for shaping the design vision and creative direction of the McLaren Automotive portfolio. He will be in charge of exterior and interior design, colors, materials, and final details. McLaren announced that the renowned designer will closely cooperate with the engineering team and the product strategy team to ensure the company continues to set the highest standards with lightweight, high-performance, and emotionally appealing luxury cars.
“McLaren is one of the most respected and proud brands in the world. I am excited to be part of their journey to help shape the design vision of the company, which is so deeply rooted in engineering excellence and racing heritage. I look forward to working with the talented teams at McLaren to create the next generations of cars that are breathtaking and purpose-driven,” Curić said following the announcement of his new role, Klix.ba writes.
