Pope Francis two days ago had an unannounced meeting with the United Kingdom (UK) King Charles III and Queen Camilla, who are visiting Italy.
Buckingham Palace stated that the royal couple is “delighted” that the Pope is “well enough to host them” and that they had the opportunity to personally express their best wishes to him.
During the meeting, Pope Francis (88) wished the royal couple a happy 20th wedding anniversary.
The Pope appeared in public for the first time over the weekend after spending five weeks in Rome’s Gemelli hospital. He was being treated for bilateral pneumonia.
