”Escobar’s statement is very strange. I don’t know how to interpret it anymore. He himself knows that with thisconstitutional arrangement, and discrimination that exists, which is built into the Constitution towards the citizens of our own country, we cannot join the EU. That is one thing. Another thing, if what Escobar says is true, that we will not enter the EU with some other constitutional system, that we will enter with this one, I am asking him to persuade his bosses to ask or put pressure on the EU in some way, and to accept us immediately into the EU with full membership,” Komsic pointed out, BHRT writes.
According to Komsic, those are the only two things he can conclude from his statement.
”I’m not exaggerating. So, if we are going to enter the EU with such a constitutional arrangement, then let us enter immediately, what are we negotiating about, what reforms, what judgments of the European Court of Human Rights, let us enter the EU and then start doing the right things. Or maybe the message is – you will never enter the EU because he also knows that this arrangement of the country is not compatible with the EU. What did he mean? What is he actually telling us? Will we go to the EU or will we never join?” Komsic concluded.
