Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Zeljko Komsic, attended an event in the city of Aarau, Switzerland, marking Bosnia and Herzegovina’s (BiH) Statehood Day, at the invitation of “Moja BiH”, a community of BiH associations from central Switzerland.
During his address to more than 700 attendees, Komsic expressed gratitude for the invitation, emphasizing, “If we give up on BiH, we cannot expect anyone else to fight for us.”
He highlighted the importance of commemorating Statehood Day and gathering on significant dates in the nation’s history, stressing the need to preserve the legacy of BiH.
“It is essential for us to stay connected, for our children to remain linked and attached to BiH. The state must be protected, cared for, and fought for. There are far more peoples in the world than there are states. Apart from our families, BiH is undoubtedly the most important thing to fight for. No matter its flaws, it is ours. BiH has faced countless challenges in its history, with many empires and armies crossing its land – most of which have vanished. Yet, BiH still stands where it always has. Our wish is for this country to continue existing and to become better. We defended it and gave everything we could to preserve it,” stated the Presidency member.
He declared that there must never be any compromise concerning the future and borders of BiH.
“Our strength lies within us, and only within us. If we are ready to fight for BiH, then we can count on friends as well. If we give up, don’t expect anyone else to fight for us. We must never be ashamed to say how much we care for BiH and to make it clear that there can be no compromise with this country’s enemies regarding its future and borders,” Komsic asserted.
