The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, spoke today with the Minister of Interior of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ramo Isak, about improving digital services for citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina abroad.
During the meeting, the possibilities of introducing e-signatures in diplomatic and consular missions of Bosnia and Herzegovina were discussed, in order to facilitate certain procedures in the provision of, primarily, consular services to our citizens living abroad. It was emphasized that this would shorten the process of obtaining Bosnian and Herzegovina documents through the diplomatic mission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and thus reduce the costs of our citizens abroad.
The need to amend the Law on Civil Registry Books of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the possibility of using e-signatures and electronic requests were also discussed in order to facilitate the process of submitting requests and obtaining documents, both for our citizens abroad and for citizens in Bosnia and Herzegovina, through civil registry offices.
Minister Konaković will discuss these topics, for which lower levels of government also have some jurisdiction in accordance with the Constitution of BiH and laws, with representatives of the Ministry of Interior of Republika Srpska and the authorities of the Brčko District of BiH, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.
