The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Elmedin Konakovic, has sent letters to the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia, Romania, and Poland concerning the decision of the Council of Ministers which prohibited citizens of these countries from voting in BiH in the European Parliament elections.
The voting blockade was effectively enforced by ministers from the Republika Srpska (RS), who considered it a response to these countries for voting in favor of the Resolution on the Genocide in Srebrenica.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Konakovic emphasized that such a vote by ministers from the SNSD is not only an attack on the right of people to vote in democratic elections but also demonstrates a destructive intent to harm bilateral relations with our important friends and allies in the European Union (EU).
The elections for the European Parliament are scheduled from June 6th to June 9th, N1 writes.
