Konakovic-Volk: Relations between BiH and Slovenia are Friendly and without open Questions

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Elmedin Konaković met today in Ljubljana with State Secretary for International Relations in the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia Vojko Volk.

The interlocutors assessed the relations between the two countries as friendly and without open questions.

They emphasized good cooperation in the fields of economy, tourism and culture, but at the same time reiterated their firm commitment to improving and strengthening overall political and economic relations.

Konaković congratulated Slovenia on its successful election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2024 and 2025. He expressed his gratitude to the Republic of Slovenia for supporting Bosnia and Herzegovina on the way to NATO and EU integration, especially for its efforts in granting BiH candidate status for EU membership.

He emphasized that it is extremely important for Bosnia and Herzegovina Slovenia’s continued support in the coming period before the EU Commission and EU member states so that after the announcement of the enlargement package, we can hope for a decision on opening negotiations for BiH as well, the Press Service of the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.
