Yesterday, the town of Konjic marked the Statehood Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) with a series of appropriate activities in which all generations of Konjic residents participated, with special emphasis on children and young people.
After visiting martyrs’ graves and memorials, during which a tribute was paid to all those who laid down their lives for Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and the preservation of its sovereignty, a ceremonial parade was organized through the streets of the city and a program was organized in the cinema hall of the National University by students, teachers, and professors of primary and secondary schools. school, the City of Konjic announced.
During the program, among other things, the most successful literary and artistic works of primary and secondary school students were presented, and prizes were awarded to students and mentors.
“Today, in honor of BiH Statehood Day, the youth of Konjic sent a clear message of peace with a song, a picture, and words, with the wish that we celebrate and welcome this and all subsequent holidays in peace and freedom. I am proud that today, together with all the educational institutions, we as a community marked one of the most significant holidays of our homeland,” said yesterday the mayor of Konjic, Osman Catic, who congratulated the BiH Statehood Day and added: “For the sake of all of them who, protecting our sovereignty, gave their lives and made it possible for us to live today in our homeland BiH, we should do our best to be worthy of what they bequeathed to us, and that is our homeland, teaching our children to love their homeland with all their hearts.
As part of the activities with which the City of Konjic celebrates the BiH Statehood Day this year, flowers will be laid on the memorials of the Local Communities in the area of Konjic today, and tomorrow, a ceremonial opening of the renovated City Stadium in Konjic will be held.
