The Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Krišto, and the President of the Republic of Albania, Bajram Begaj, emphasized today during a meeting in Sarajevo that the visit of the Albanian President of Bosnia and Herzegovina comes at a crucial moment for both countries, considering common European aspirations and ambitions.
Kristo expressed her belief that this will further strengthen friendly relations and improve cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Albania.
She congratulated Begaj on the successful holding of the second intergovernmental conference, which made Albania the first candidate country to open accession negotiations using the new methodology, according to BHRT.
In this context, she informed Begaj about Bosnia and Herzegovina’s intention to organize its first intergovernmental conference with the European Union, which would further confirm BiH’s commitment to the European path.
Begaj expressed strong support for the European perspective of Bosnia and Herzegovina, stressing that efforts to achieve full membership of BiH in the EU will bring long-term benefits, not only for Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also for the entire region, the Council of Ministers of BiH announced.
As a reminder, the President of Albania, Bajram Begaj, arrived today for a two-day official visit to our country, emphasizing the traditional friendship between the two countries and the importance of further strengthening cooperation at all levels.
At the ceremonial reception, the Albanian president was welcomed by members of the BiH Presidency.
Pointing out the importance of deepening all-round relations with Albania, the Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović, reminded that diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in 1992 and have been growing steadily since then.
