The laboratory has been established in accordance with the highest world standards in forensic DNA analysis and fitted with high-quality and most modern equipment organized in two independent lines of operation.
The laboratory performs expert analysis of biological traces of human origin (blood, hair, hair, semen, epithelial cells, secretions, etc.) from the crime scene and reference samples taken from suspects, and in the context of forensic DNA tests the Laboratory performs STR testing and paternity proceedings.
“Along the existing laboratories (for forensic audio processing, analysis of computer systems, for graphology analysis, video material analysis, for chemical-physical analysis), this is the sixth forensic capacity (laboratory) of the Agency that performs analyses by the orders of courts and prosecutions across all levels of authority in BiH,” the Agency stated.
The Agency for Forensic Examinations and Expertise is an administrational organization within the Ministry of Security of BiH, with operational independence.
